• QUE' PASA! - The band has been covering a lot of Santana, Hendrix, SRV & Allman Bros tunes ... check out WCRU's occasional mini tributes sets! Ask for the Latin inspired new original titled "Celebramos". This year the band is performing more with Clif on Saxophone & Flute at special events!
• RADIO AIR PLAY & LIVE INTERVIEW - Special thanks to WRMC College Radio for the 1 hour radio interview in April 2010. 
• UNPLUGGED - Look for monthly WCRU acoustic shows ... lot's of gutsy original tunes mixed with popular rock songs & blues tunes!
• CD'S - The band is planning to record again this year, later in the summer season, possibly 3 different CD's - acoustic, original and live? 
• NEW VENUES - Several new venues and special events are planned. They include shows at Chicago House of Blues, Taste of Chicago - BEST BUY Stage, US Cellular Field, community festivals and venues on the northshore, downtown, western burbs and Chain O' Lakes. Check the schedule each month for updates. WCRU needs your support at all new venues and every month at our regular venues!

2009

• WHAT'S NEW? - In 2009, WCRU added more dates on the Northshore and Westside ... next up south side! The rubber was burnin' so black at the December Chicago House of Blues show that you couldn't see through it ... the Back Porch Stage rocks! 
• CHICAGO ROCK N' ROLL MARATHON SERIES - Stage #B-10 WCRU performed on 1 of the 13 stages at the Chicago Rock n' Roll Marathon Series! Past Rock n’ Roll headliner acts include the Goo Goo Dolls, Chris Isaak, Seal, Live, Sugar Ray, SmashMouth, Chicago, and Pat Benatar. This 2009 headliner was Susan Tedeschi!
• TASTE OF CHICAGO -  WCRU was back on the BEST BUY STAGE - Sunday, June 28, 2009 - fun in the sun!
• CABLE TV - Plainfield, IL Cable TV broadcasted a live, 9 original song, in studio performance on Jan. 1, 2 & 3, 2010, it is appreciated!  Look for more information on this performance to be released on a DVD in late 2010. 
• WE BELIEVE THE MOVIE - The Windy City Rev Ups announced that the title track of the all original CD "Swing Out Chicago" was selected to be featured on the Cub's Baseball Movie "We Believe The Movie" CD compilation. Thank you for your votes!

2008

• CD RELEASE PARTY'S - The band celebrated the 2nd pressing of 1,000 "Rev It Up" Fan Club CD's at Hanson Brothers Tavern in Northbrook, IL ... the crowd was blow away! The "Swing Out Chicago" CD Release Party's at Frankie's Blues Room in Naperville was a big success, over 175 people came out the hear the band's new tunes! The follow up release party at Gabe's Backstage Lounge in Highwood, an upscale theatre style listening room was (SRO) standing room only. At both shows WCRU performed as a 6 piece line up, tearing up tunes from the "Live In Chicago" and "Swing Out Chicago" CD's.
• TASTE OF CHICAGO - Over 3 million people attend this annual event. WCRU performed on the BEST BUY stage (located at the start of Route 66 in Grant Park), signed CD's and had over 5,000 attendee's rockin' to the music. Check out the bootleg videos and concert pics on the VIDEO web page!
• CD & PERFORMANCE REVIEW - Special thanks to Crossroads for the great review of the "Live In Chicago" CD and WASSUP Lake County Edition for the cool live performance review!
• PRESS - Special thanks to Illinois Entertainer and Suburban Nitelife for mentioning the release of the band's new CD's in their November 2008 issues. Lake County Journals, thank you for the NCVAMC holiday benefit show article, the band was proud to help out these US veterans. 
• SWING OUT CHICAGO CD - Released in October 2008. This "all original" studio release was tracked live and includes 11 new WCRU songs. The songs range from swingin' jump blues like "I Should Have Known" to angelic acoustic guitar tunes like "Red, White & Blue", B3 organ and electric guitar rockers like "Halfway Home" and "Shine So Bright". Nine of the tracks feature the band performing as a 6 piece line up, including the radio single and title track "Swing Out Chicago".
• LIVE IN CHICAGO CD - Released on June 28, 2008 as part of the band's performance at Taste of Chicago, sponsored by BEST BUY. The retail tent sold out of the CD ... during WCRU’s performance. The Windy City Rev Ups debut release is a "live recording" that features 8 live cover songs and 2 studio recording original bonus tracks including the title track of the band's 2nd release and debut "all original" studio release "Swing Out Chicago". The live tracks feature the band performing as the core WCRU 5 piece line up. WCRU CD's and Mp3's are available on-line at CD Baby & iTUNES and at all WCRU live performances.
• WORLDWIDE RADIO - The band appreciates the radio air play outside the USA; in both S. America and Europe - UK, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland & Bulgaria ... thank you!
